The world’s largest youth football tournament, and I had never heard of it. Watching the Swedish film Forever made me wonder whether the tournament in the story was real. It was, and the next edition was just two months away.
So I booked a flight to Gothenburg, a city that had never really been on my radar. It turned out to be a lovely discovery and the setting for some of my most memorable moments of the year.
